Maria Sara Popa came out first after defeating Emilija Zdravkovic with the score of 6-1, 6-3 within the finals of Dr. Oetker Junior Trophy.

“I’m glad I won after a disputed match. I had a rough but wonderful week. I was happy to compete at Dr. Oetker Junior Trophy, especially because I won’t be able to come next year. I enjoyed every bit of it and I would like to thank the organizers for setting this tour up. I dedicate this victory to my grandmother who passed away last year. I loved her very much and I am grateful for everything she did for me. My next competition will be the ITFs, where I’m going to compete both at juniors and seniors. I hope I will be in a good shape there too. I hope, one day, I will play like Simona Halep at Roland Gaross. I also admire Maria Sharapova, she is and will always be my second rolemodel, after Simona Halep. I also like Nadal. I’m very strong mentally, I’m calm and relaxed all the time.” said Maria Sara Popa.

Mihai Alexandru Coman won against Pacheco Mendez (Mexico) in finals with the score of 3-6, 7-5, 6-2 at Dr. Oetker Junior Trophy.

“It was a tough game. I admit that I was the one making my life harder, but I’m glad I was able to fight until the end and that I maintained my level. I happy for winning the match.  I want to thank my parents and my coaches for this. It was a beautiful week, it rained, but the courts and the tournament were great thanks to the organizers. The capacity exam is what comes next.”

Director of Dr. Oetker Junior Trophy tour, Cătalina Cristea, awarded Pavel Lagutin (Russia) with the Fair-Play prize in memoriam Florența Mihai because of his touching story.

“I’m glad for making the 8th edition of Dr. Oetker Junior Trophy possible. It was a successful event and all the competitiors were very impressed by the organisation. Like every year we were congratulated, participants even told us this is the most beautiful and well-organized competition in Europe. For me, the Fair-Play Trophy in memoriam Florența Mihai means a lot. She was a special person, collegue, coach and leader. I had the opportunity to work with her from the first edition of the event and I feel honored to take the organisation of the tournament over. This year, we had given this prize not exclusively for fair-play, but to a child that impressed us. I’m talking about Pavel Lagutin, a russion boy, who trains in Spain. Even if he was alone all week, he fought and eventually made it to the quarters. We were impressed by his maturity and by the fact he managed to take care of himself alone. I would like to thank our sponsor, Dr. Oetker Romania,  for being by our side every year. Mr. Ioan Cozma , general director of Dr. Oetker Romania, is a special person who loves tennis and offers all of his support for it. Our goal is to gather more participants every year to this competition.” said tournament director Cătălina Cristea.
