Tournament winners were determined at the Dr.Oetker Junior Trophy 2014, the largest junior tennis tournament in Romania U14, on the 1’st of June, the International Chlidren’s day.Romanian Tennis Federation awarded the best athletes in a ceremony held at the National Tennis Centre .
Saturday, June 1 , they last singles and doublesmatches were played at the Dr. Oetker Junior Trophy 2014, the ceremony taking place on the same day.
Yshai Oliel is the winner in the men’s singles final of the tournament Dr.Oetker Junior Trophy. The iranian played against the french Axel Creton . Oliel had a tense moment when the score was in the opponents favor ,the Frenchman managed to get a score of 2-0 . After a strong recovery , Yshai Oliel managed to end the game victorious , receiving a score of 6-3, 6-4 .
The romanian Selma Cadar Stefania was the winner of the U14 women’s tournament , with the score of 6-3, 6-3, after emerging victorious from the confrontation with Gergana Topalov from Bulgaria.
Singles finalists were awarded by the Dr.Oetker Junior Trophy tournament’s director Florenta Mihai , Cyprian Savulescu – Director General of the Romanian Tennis Federation and Oana Popescu – the sponsor representative from Erste Asset Management.
In girls doubles finals the winers are Selma Stefania Cadar and Ania Hertel . They played against the romanian pair Gabriela Ana Maria Davidescu and Andreea Prisacariu , wining with a score of 1-6 , 6-2, [ 10-5 ] .
At the men’s doubles final , the winners were Yshai Oliel and the romanian Stefan Paolos, after a match against the finalists Varona Alvarez and Aaron Schmid , with a score of 6-2, 6-3.
The little champions received a gift from the sponsors , diplomas and books about the greatest tennis players in the world – Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Brad Gilbert , Andre Aggasi and Rafael Nadal.
This competition was yet another important step for the players , who already started to think about the next tournament that they want to attend . As for doing performance in tennis you need a lot of intense and constant training, the young tennis players are already thinking about competing in the U18 competitions.
